Hi, I’m Dr. elisa devargas.

I am a licensed psychologist. My goal is to increase access to high quality mental health support for children and families in NM and throughout the U.S.

New Mexico is and always has been my home, which is why supporting our community’s wellness is so important to me. Coming from a rural town and growing up with a large family has taught me that community and connection form the foundation for resilience. When we can come together to support and understand each other, we can thrive in the most challenging situations.

I form a team with my clients to understand their unique perspectives and collaborate on goals. Then, we work together to develop skills, build connections, and foster resilience across all aspects of life (e.g., family, work, school, friendships).

  • Attachment, Regulation, and Competence (ARC) Framework, is a program made for kids and teens who have gone through a lot of stress or tough experiences. It helps them feel better and gives people who take care of them a way to help in a caring, thoughtful way.

  • Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is a way to help young kids who have behavior problems. It's a program for kids and their families that lasts 12-18 weeks. PCIT teaches adults how to handle their child’s tough behaviors while also having fun, enjoying each others company and helping the child to play nicely. It can also help reduce stress from being a parent or caregiver.
